چکیده

PURPOSE. Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF)contributes to inflammation-associated angiogenesis. This study investigates the role of TNFreceptors 1a and 1b in the development of choroidal neovascularization (CNV). METHODS. CNV was induced in Tnfrsf1a / and Tnfrsf1b / mice with C57Bl6/J background and their wild-type (WT) (C57Bl/6J) controls by laser damage to the Bruch’s membrane. TNFexpression in RPE/choroid was determined by Western blot analysis. Pathologic angiogenesis was estimated qualitatively and quantitatively by fluorescein angiography and histology on choroidal flat mounts and paraffin cross-sections. Inflammatory cell invasion was investigated by clodronic acid depletion of circulating macrophages and immunochemistry, and the apoptotic activity was investigated by TUNEL assay and by caspase-3 and caspase-8 expression. Receptor 1b-specific Bmx/Etk kinase was detected by immunochemistry.

Role of tumor necrosis factor-alpha in pathogenesis of recurrent aphthous stomatitis: A systematic review and meta-analysis

BACKGROUND AND AIM: Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) is a lesion of the oral cavity with an unknown etiology. Several studies have been performed on the role of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) in RAS. The main purpose of this paper was to review TNF-α level and its gene polymorphism in patients with RAS, the factors influencing the production of TNF-α, a...

اثر 6 هفته تمرینات استقامتی بر TNF-α سرمی و حجم تومور موشهای حامل تومور پستان

Background and Objective: Breast cancer is a genetic and chronic inflammatory disease with an increasing incidence among Iranian women. Researchers have shown that regular exercise is presumed to have prophylactic effect and adjuvant therapy in inhibition of tumor growth. So the aim of this study was to assess the effect of endurance training on serum TNF-α in breast cancer bearing mice. Materi...

Endometriosis Classification and The Role of Tumor Necrosis Factor-Alpha Polymorphisms as A Therapeutic Target

In the recent original research published on International Journal of Fertility and Sterility the association between tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) genetic polymorphisms and endometriosis in 150 Iranian patients suffered this disease. The authors notably found a lower frequency of TNF-α -863C/A allele A among the affected patients in comparison with healthy women, although this difference...

Association between Tumor Necrosis Factor- α-308 G/A Polymorphism and Multiple Sclerosis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex polygenic disease in which gene-environment interactions are important. A number of studies have investigated the association between tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) -308 G/A polymorphism (substitution G→A, designated as TNF1 and TNF2) and MS susceptibility in different populations, but the results of individual studies have been inconsistent. Therefore, per...
